M-SParc TikTok Game : Bala

CreuTech was invited by M-SParc to run a six-part workshop series in Bala, working with local young people to explore creativity and technology. The focus was on making the sessions fun, hands-on and relevant to the community.

One of the highlights of the programme was developing a TikTok-style face filter game inspired by the pysgod gwyniad, a rare freshwater fish found only in Bala Lake. The idea came directly from the local context, giving participants the chance to celebrate something unique to their home while learning new digital skills.

Over the course of the workshops, the group learned how filters and effects are created, experimented with interaction and play, and built their own working prototype. The result was a simple but joyful game that combined local heritage with digital culture, sparking plenty of laughs and creativity along the way.

For CreuTech, this project was about more than just teaching technology. It showed how accessible tools like TikTok filters can be a gateway into digital making, and how blending local identity with global platforms creates work that feels fresh, authentic and fun.
