As part of the Immersive Arts UK programme, CreuTech collaborated with performance artist Dæmon Clelland to develop their VR prototype exploring trans rights and identity through immersive storytelling.

The wider project is a performance work, For the prototype we focused on one powerful strand of the piece, the idea of an invisibility potion as a metaphor for “passing”. This concept became the core of the immersive test, highlighting both the possibilities and the pressures of visibility and invisibility in everyday life for trans and non-binary people.

Working closely with Dæmon, CreuTech developed a digital prototype that translated this metaphor into an interactive, immersive experience. The goal wasn’t to produce a finished artwork, but to create a space where ideas could be tested, explored and shared, helping Dæmon experiment with how performance and immersive tools can intersect.

The outcome was a striking proof-of-concept that stood strongly on its own while also pointing toward the larger vision of Dæmon's full performance work. It captured the poetic and political resonance of the invisibility metaphor, while showing how immersive technology can expand the reach and impact of performance art.

For CreuTech, this collaboration reinforced the value of prototyping in the creative process. By focusing on one strong idea, we were able to support Dæmon in developing a VR piece that not only carried emotional weight but also demonstrated the unique power of combining live performance with immersive experimentation.
